Hey, I’m Courtney — the eyes, ears, and slightly obsessive creative brain behind Sagemist Media. I was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho, went to Poky High (go Indians!), and thought I had my path all mapped out: nursing school at ISU. Spoiler alert — I pulled a hard left turn my senior year and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Health Science instead. It was one of the first times I realized that “success” isn’t always a straight line… and that maybe I was never meant to take the traditional route anyway.

In 2016, I jumped into the workforce at Aspen Dental, and by the next summer I was calling Idaho Falls home. Fast forward a few years, and I took a leap of faith in 2020 that changed everything — I joined Teton Toyota, and eventually stepped into a group-wide trainer role where I spent my days developing leaders, building systems, and trying to make workplaces actually work.

But somewhere along the way, I realized the thing I kept coming back to was storytelling — real, honest, visual storytelling that helps people connect. That’s what led me to launch Sagemist Media. Now, I help small-town businesses show up like they belong in the spotlight… because they do.

These days, I live in Salmon, Idaho with my partner, our three dogs, Zeke, Moose, and Sako, and a small jungle’s worth of plants. I work with local brands, entrepreneurs, and makers to create visuals that are rooted in story and made to be seen.
